What’s new in SAP SuccessFactors first half 2023 release?

Here’s how you can build on skill innovation for your workforce with the latest additions in SAP SuccessFactors first half 2023 release. 


Talent Intelligence Hub 

The talent intelligence hub serves as the foundation for people growth and development, and offers individuals powerful ways to connect them with opportunities for learning and professional growth. It circles around building the growth portfolio wherein organizations can define the skills, strengths and preferences for employees, resulting in highly personalized recommendations in SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace and Learning, among others. 


Dynamic Teams 

The features adding to dynamic teams’ capabilities will now enable teams to link objectives and key results (OKRs) to their individual performance goals, offering line managers visibility into the contributions made by employees. As an organization, you will have transparency into how and what work is getting done and the contributions of dynamic teams across departments and lines of business. 


Opportunity Marketplace 

The search and filter opportunities in SAP SuccessFactors Opportunities Marketplace extends its capabilities for employees' growth and skill enhancements. Additionally, recommendations in the form of job postings from SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting can now surface to support internal mobility. 


Elevated, engaging employee experience  

The SAP SuccessFactors first half 2023 release elevates employee experience through efficiency and individualization. A few highlights include: 

User interface: Visual change with the Horizon visual theme turned on by default on the SAP SuccessFactors home page, within a modern user interface is designed to increase employee engagement and is poised to be applied to all employee-facing pages by the end of this year. 

Digital workplace: Bringing quick and high-value HR actions into SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone is a way to meet employees where they work and elevates the digital work experience for them. To illustrate with an example, employees can now trigger actions such as give or receive feedback, in Microsoft Teams.  

Additional innovative features available in this release include:   

  • Core HR: Expect an elevated experience with improvements in Core HR functionalities; for instance, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central now includes a concurrent employment process.  

    Employee Central Payroll introduces multiple usability enhancements to the payroll control center, including an improved integration for advanced leave payments to remove manual adjustments when a leave is adjusted after a pay run.

  • Onboarding: The new hire functionality of SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding has been extended to further streamline the hiring process and enhance process efficiency. New additions include custom notification triggers for email, homepage enhancements in offboarding and configurable due dates in onboarding.

  • Absence Management: An improved view of leave entitlements with links to policy documents and resources and a new user interface for work schedules.

  • Time tracking: To improve employee productivity features, this new release introduces support for complex time valuation, for example, defining a rest period between shifts. It also includes improvements in handling public holidays.

  • Mobile features: An offline, learning capability allowing employees to complete their learning assignments, and browse, sign up and connect with mentors directly within the mobile application.
